Throughout the year, we participate in many donations, from Tricky Trays to Taste of Talent! We just wanted to share with you a few of the places we’ve donated to this year and reflect on the exciting and busy year we’ve had!
This year, we had the opportunity to participate in four large events featuring many local restaurants, and we were a drop-off location for Toys for Tots! As a small business in a small town, we’re excited to be involved with the community in different ways.
Taste of Talent:
We love working with so many restaurants in Sussex County to support Project Self Sufficiency. Cafe Pierrot has been part of this event for over 20 years, and we always enjoy seeing our customers in a new setting and supporting a great cause.
“The mission of Project Self-Sufficiency of Sussex County is to support and empower low-income individuals and families to improve the quality of life for themselves and for their children through comprehensive family stability and personal and economic self-sufficiency services.”
We created these yummy Korean BBQ in lettuce leaf wraps with various toppings, and the table was decorated with lilac’s from Laura’s garden!

An Evening of Wine & Roses:
This event benefits the Newton Medical Center, and the food/wine choices are delicious. To go with the wine theme, we served mini chocolate cupcakes with vanilla icing and merlot pipettes. For dinner, we served Pork Goulash over bowtie pasta in bamboo boats.
Harvest Fest:
This fun event benefits the Growing Stage, a children’s theater in Netcong and features other restaurants in the area, as well. To go with the harvest theme, we made these pumpkin spice choux…. yumm. We also served Mexican Spring Rolls!
Night at the Races:
We love supporting Pass it Along at their Night at the Races event this year. We served these Billionaire Bourbon Bites and they were a big hit! Along with our delicious Beef Bourguignon.
The Pass It Along Mission? “To build confident, resilient, compassionate teenagers through self-discovery, volunteer and leadership opportunities.”
Tricky Trays:
All local businesses receive many, many requests for various Tricky Tray donations. We typically donate a coffee thermos or iced tea tumbler with a gift card for 5 free refills and beverage refills are discounted in future use!
We donated over 40 of these tumblers to the booster clubs and churches in our county!
Christmas Cakes:
We only donate cakes under special circumstances, and this year we had the opportunity to donate 3 sheet cakes to different organizations in the areas. These groups are hosting Christmas dinner for homeless people in the area, and we really love the work they’re doing.
