Our Guide to Andover Borough, NJ

Heading out to our Andover Borough location for your cake tasting? Check out some of the other things to do in the area if you’re making the trip.

Antiques

As you drive down Main Street of Historic Andover Borough, you’ll notice rows of antique shops. We find so many pieces for our own homes in these stores, and we think you’ll find something, too!

We especially love our friends at Made in the Shade. She recently expanded past the house at the entrance to town, and now has a shop complete with vintage doors and hardware. If you’re looking for the shabby chic vibe, it’s a great place to start.

You can also find great gifts in these shops. For example, I was looking for a coffee-themed gift and found several antique coffee bean grinders, chose one, and it was a big hit with friends.

Hiking/ Biking Trails

When you find yourself in rural New Jersey, you should take advantage of the beautiful hiking, walking, and biking opportunities.

Beautiful Kittatinny Valley State Park is right down the street from Cafe Pierrot in Andover, and offers walking trails, mountain biking, kayaking, snow shoeing, cross country skiing, and more! With no entrance fee and free parking, you can easily work off those cake samples and see some of NJ’s beautiful nature offerings.

Parking for the Sussex Branch Trail is located a quarter-mile away on Rt 206, and it’s a great trail for mountain biking, as well.

You can also order take-out lunch and enjoy the picnic tables at Lake Aeroflex located 1.3 miles away off Limecrest Road.

Dress Shopping

We have the one of the top dress shops right down the street! Call The Wedding Store to make an appointment for dress shopping the same day as your cake tasting. You’ll be checking two items off your wedding to-do list!

Small Town Love

Chef Rick Nifenecker grew up around the corner in Byram Township, only a few minutes away from our bakery. We’ve been in this location for almost 30 years, and love sharing some of our favorite places to visit. Even though it’s a small town, we still find things to do!

With so many farms in the area, you also have an opportunity to pick strawberries or pumpkins depending on the season!

We hope you enjoy your time here!
