Barbecues might be one of our favorite things about summer. Combine them with a great couple, and you have the perfect laid-back summer wedding.
The couple owns a horse farm in Northern New Jersey and wanted to showcase their property by holding the ceremony and reception on site. She chose the rustic burlap, lace, and sunflower theme for centerpieces and decor.
We coordinated all the rentals – tent, dance floor, bar, linens, tables and chairs – and added some finishing touches to support the theme.
Our Gourmet Barbecue Menu includes a drink station of Iced Tea & Lemonade served in handled mason jars. We served the drinks on this vintage Coca-Cola cooler and handed mason jars to guests on their way to the outdoor ceremony.
While the bride created the centerpieces, we were in charge of decorating the escort card station and the buffet table. We brought the antique table for displaying the escort cards, and brought a milk crate for cards and gifts.
The bride displayed favors in the area below the escort cards.
For the main food buffet, we added height to the display with a tall sunflower arrangement covered in brown kraft paper. Along the table we included vintage lanterns and milk crates to increase the rustic feel of the event.
For the dessert table, the buttercream cake with burlap ribbon and sugar sunflowers stood on its own with serving utensils and cake topper provided by the bride.
Summer weather can always be a concern for outdoor weddings. Will it rain or be too hot? In this case, the weather was perfect! The sky was overcast without raining, keeping guests out of the heat of the sun! We couldn’t have been happier with the result.
