Wedding Cake 2019 Trends
We’re sharing some of the trends we’re excited about for 2019… Here’s some closeups of those cakes and some of our other favorites!

Black Wedding Cakes (C282)
As we mentioned in the video, dark colors and black are very popular right now for that super-romantic, dramatic look. We added sugar flowers with gold details and edible image flowers for a 2D/3D contrast, as well.

Pantone Color of the Year: Living Coral (C281)
Pantone always sets the mood for the year with their color prediction. We love the brightness of Living Coral and the touches how it looks in natural flowers…. as well as our custom sugar flowers! We added to the fun with extravagant macarons and meringues, colored buttercream, and gold drip.
White on White
Not sure about black or bright colors? The white-on-white trend is for you! The subtle texture of molded flowers or cable-knit buttercream will have guests taking a closer look. While you might be thinking white in the spring or summer, obviously it looks great for the winter, as well.

Copper
The copper trend is showing up everywhere in design. The hammered copper adds a fun texture to a wedding cake, and we incorporated the color into a geometric wreath, as well. The eucalyptus and bold sugar flowers are actually edible, but we recommend you save them as a keepsake from your wedding!

Hexagon Cakes
Cakes don’t need to round! We’ll shape the cake into anything you want. The alternating hexagon and round tiers on this cake are covered in fondant.

Fresh Fruit
Instead of fresh flowers on a wedding cake, try fresh fruit instead! We love this look on a naked cake or a simple buttercream cake, especially in the summer!
Ferns
We love the focus on greenery and natural colors on wedding cakes! This one features birch-bark buttercream with fern designs and looks great for a rustic wedding theme. Instead of going with sunflowers for a natural summer touch, try these different colors.

Geometric Shapes
We’ve talked a lot about geometric shapes for 2019 trends, but we have one more to show you! Not only is this does this one feature the subtle geometric wiring detail, we have marble fondant covering the tears and cascading sugar flowers across the front. You’ll even see some succulents mixed in with the flowers!
